Smells Like Teen Spirit

Many of us loved Stone Temple Pilots, Silverchair, Sonic Youth, and Pearl Jam, but who knew that Seattle's rock sound could transcend the angst of the 1990's. However lately it's not only the sounds of this mosh culture which have continued to thrive, for fashion has picked up on the resonance of the grunge era.

As a vintage shopper, I often proclaim to spot up-and-coming trends within the vogue reading community. Recently I have noticed that babydoll dresses, flannel shirts, Dr Martins, and other punk/metal hyrbrid items have slowly been making their return to high fashion. Although such items may seem a far cry from couture, it appears as though this nostalgic period of my life has been reintroduced.

After surfing ebay for hours on end, I can assure you that there is a statistical rise in the seattle scene attire. Nevertheless many of you trend seekers will still be buying day glow leggings, and 1980's prom dresses, until you begin to realize you are mimicking the wrong decade. Just giving you the heads up...
